Complete Replacement

This 1980’s new build with recycled materials was built by a previous owner. Originally they had wooden sash windows with spiral balances; the quality was poor, they did not open freely and the manoeuvrability was restricted. That style of modern sash windows is inherently problematic and so the only option available to the owners was to fit replacement, slim style accoya windows with sash cords and weights. The customers decided upon traditional Georgian style. The replacement windows are not “chunky” and do not ingress into the room as some replacement windows will.

The work
  • We provided double-glazed replacement windows in accoya, housing a conservation-approved double-glazed unit with an impressive U-value of just 1.2 wk.
  • A memory-foam seal was routed into the perimeter of the sashes and across the mid rail for draught- and noise-proofing
  • We decorated all the windows, which we fitted with heritage lockable fitches and sash lifts
